Tree of Hope Lighting Event to Honor MMIWG2S2

Light the Tree of Hope Join at Lamoureux Park on December 5, 2024, from 6–7 PM, honoring Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people (MMIWG2S).

This event is organized by the Akwesasne Family Wellness Program, Cornwall Police, and the City of Cornwall, is a moment of reflection, resilience, and action. Together, we’ll stand in solidarity with families and communities impacted by violence.

The evening will feature traditional songs, prayers, speeches, and the symbolic lighting of the tree adorned with red lights and ribbons – each representing a life, a family’s strength, and our shared commitment to justice and healing.

Unite under the Tree of Hope and shine a light on the path toward change.
