A Voice from the Eastern Door

Another Successful & Thoroughly Enchanting – Christmas Enchantment 2024!

Hundreds of community members and our surrounding neighbors wound their way to Tsi Snaihne to visit "Christmas Enchantment" at the Snye Recreation Center. Syne Recreation members worked tirelessly for days to bring this all together as their biggest fundraiser of the year.

With over 35 trees decorated to match any Christmas fantasy land, three took on their own personality with themes rivaling the North Pole. With tools, furniture, cash, gift certificates, fishing gear, appliances and outdoor gear, visitors could find a tree to their own personal liking – but of course, you would have to win that tree first.

Some winners walked away without a tree – but with a great prize just the same.

Winner of the 50/50 $5,545.00 – Wenitanoron Oakes.

Winners of Quilts – Jamie Sunday and Kevin Nanticoke

Winner of Grand Prize – Mark Light.

Christmas Enchantment ran from Friday to Sunday afternoon, but time was set aside for our elders to enjoy a special luncheon served by officers from the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service and the Saint Regis Tribal Police.
