SALARY LEVEL: PAY BAND 6 $65,476.08 - $96,920.59 ANNUALLY

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Forestry Technician is responsible for maintaining and keeping in accordance with the aims and objectives of the department of environment, and to promote sound forestry management practices in the Territory if Akwesasne and surrounding areas.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Highschool diploma or equivalent, post secondary education with 2 years’ experience implementing forestry management practices,
OR
• Equivalent combination of education & experience;
• Knowledge of forest insects & diseases, tree assessment, and plant and tree identification,
• Knowledge of terrain specific species, and experience
• Knowledge of Akwesasne culture in relation to plants and trees
