Illicit Drugs Found on Playground

On Monday, September 30, 2024, the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Police (SRMPT) issued an announcement to the community of Akwesasne.

SRMPT, "Be advised, a small bag was found at the playground at Generations Park. The small baggie was located on the playground and reported to the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Police. It was collected and processed, the contents did test positive for cocaine. This case is under investigation. We feel it is essential to inform the public of this and to encourage everyone to be extra cautious, especially when involving children. Report any suspicious activity to us immediately. We ask everyone to help us keep children and where they play safe. Nia:wen."
