Funding for Community-Based Arts Events & Projects!

Jefferson, Lewis & St. Lawrence Counties, and Akwesasne Mohawk Nation

The St. Lawrence County Arts Council (SLC Arts) administers a state-funded grant program in Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence Counties, and the Akwesasne Mohawk Nation. Through the Statewide Community Regrants (SCR) Program, SLC Arts will award $160,000 to individual artists, 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations, government entities, Tribal Nations, and unincorporated collectives, to fund 2025 arts programming.

SLC Arts offers three grant opportunities: The Individual Artist Grant is a $3,000 grant that funds the creation of new work by individual artists; the Arts Education Grant ($500-$5,000) funds arts education projects; and the Community Arts Grant ($500-$5,000) funds community-based arts experiences such as concerts, theater, exhibits, spoken word, etc. Projects in any artistic discipline - music, theater, literature, poetry, dance, visual arts, media arts, etc. are supported.

SLC Arts will hold a series of Arts Funding Info Sessions to allow potential applicants to learn more about available grants and the application process. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. All first-time applicants are REQUIRED to attend an info session or meet with the Grant Coordinator before submitting an application. To register for an info session, please visit slcartscouncil.org/grants.

The application deadline for all three grants is Wednesday, October 30, 2024. For more information, and to view grant guidelines and applications, please visit slcartscouncil.org/grants. Questions? Please contact Alicia Murphy, Grant Coordinator, at [email protected].

Made possible with funds from the State Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts, with the support of the Office of the Governor, and the New York State Legislature, and administered by the St. Lawrence County Arts Council.
