AkwesasneYouth Earns Most Outstanding Cadet Award

Course Cadet Morgan Roundpoint of Cornwall Island and RCSCC 110 Stormont Sea Cadets (Cornwall) won the most outstanding cadet award for the Ship's Boat Operator Course on July 26, 2024, during graduation ceremonies for her course at HMCS Ontario Cadet Training Centre, Kingston, Ontario.

The Ship's Boat Operator Course provides cadets an opportunity to develop advanced seamanship skills, including ropework and rigging, serving as a crew member twelve-person whaler boat, participating in a day sail on a training vessel, and learning naval communication. Additionally, during the course, cadets attain their standard first aid qualification, Restricted Radio Operator's Certificate (Maritime), and learn how to safely operate a powerboat.
