Announcing the Duran Clint Jacobs Skaroniate Legacy Grant for 2024. This grant was created to celebrate Duran Jacobs’ life by assisting fellow artists and musicians.
The award of $1,000 is for a Native Mohawk senior student from Salmon River Central High School or Massena Central High School. The student must have shown an interest in music and/or art, as in playing an instrument, DJ’ing, mixing & producing, singing, writing songs, poetry or any creative writing, painting, graphics, or digital art.
Interested students should write an essay about why they deserve the grant and how they intend to use the funds. Please provide all appropriate documentation, including photos of yourself, artwork with digital files or photos, music in form of mp3 or mp4 digital files, documents in PDF or Word. Copies of Tribal membership or affiliation are helpful. Also, anyone of student age need not be in school at the present time but engaged in production of art or music, will be considered.
The more documentation the better. Please include relevant contact information, phone and email. You may include Facebook or Instagram links that highlight your art if think it is helpful, but not necessary.
