Native North American Travelling College (NNATC) has been a center of Cultural Education and community events since 1974. Our main service is to promote educate and preserve the culture and language of the Akwesasro:nen people by traveling to local and regional schools, colleges, community organization to provide cultural training, awareness of historic and contemporary issues of our people. The college also demonstrates songs, dances and provides storytelling and workshops such as beading, basketmaking and traditional clothing.

Brief Overview Of The Position

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Administrative Assistant (AA) is responsible for providing administrative and office support to all team members at NNATC to maintain a positive and efficient work environment including telephone and reception duties, receiving and sorting of mail, copying, maintaining the records system, assisting in meeting preparation, supply orders, and other general office responsibilities. The AA will assist in the overall functions of the NNATC and maintaining a positive online presence for NNATC, ensuring to update and maintain the NNATC website and social media platforms so the public is well informed of service offerings and administrative details/activities. 

The Administrative Assistant position is responsible for the following key functions.

Office/Administrative Support

Social Media Support

Other duties as assigned/required.

Qualifications

High School Graduate. 

2 years’ experience in basic office operations and online sales. 

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. 

Able to travel freely across the International Border between Canada and the U.S.

Proficiency with computers: Microsoft 365, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and various video conferencing platforms and some basic design tools, HTML & CSS. 

Preferred

Ability to speak Kanienkeha or willingness to attend classes when available. 

Annual salary commensurate with experience. $37,440 to $45,750

Successful applicant will be eligible for benefits after completion of 6-month probationary period.
