TAMMY T. MITCHELL

Tammy T. Mitchell- Dupree, 55, of Akwesasne , unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone.

Tammy was born on October 19, 1968 in Cornwall, ON, daughter of the late Thomas "Tommy" and Frances (Cook) Mitchell.  Tammy married Christopher Dupree on August 18, 2023 in Massena.

Tammy was a cook and caterer, and worked at the Snye School.  She enjoyed cooking for her family, friends and family gatherings, and going for drives.  Tammy cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her nieces and nephews, who were her chosen children.

Tammy is survived by her husband Christopher Dupree; siblings, Phillip Mitchell of Snye; Tina (Ryan Bero) Mitchell of Snye; Wade (Leonee) Mitchell of Snye; Cynthia (Harold Fisher) Mitchell of Cornwall; Robbie Joe Cook of St. Regis; and her chosen brother Gabriel (Nora) Cook of Hogansburg.

Tammy is also survived by her nieces and nephews Frankie, Riley, Torran; Lakiesha (godchild), Iawentanawen (godchild), Memphis, Kahrakwas, Zade (godchild), Austin, Katherine, Janice, Ashley, Gabriella, Gabe, Lance, Shawna, Waylon, Shyla, Marcus, Maryann, Raukus, Aura and Penelope; her great nieces and nephews Tessa, Lainey and Logan, Bria, Sonnie, Camrie, Jadyn, Aurie, Emrie and Holly; her babies Rayanna, the minions Tayne and Tacori; her baby sweetheart Marilyn, Tammy and Chris' baby boy Ryder.

She was predeceased by her father Thomas "Tommy" Mitchell in 1974; her mother Frances (Cook) Mitchell in 1978; her maternal grandmother Rosemary Cook in 1999; and her paternal grandparents Grace and Lawrence Mitchell, her Guardian Angel Landon Cook and Robbie Jo Cook Jr.

Friends may call at Akwesasne Homemakers beginning Tuesday at 12 noon until the time of her funeral service Wednesday at 2 PM, with Father Jerome Pastores officiating.
