WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old youth from St. Regis, QC, was arrested on Feb. 14, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged the youth was scheduled to attend court on Sept. 28, 2023, and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Feb. 14, 2024, the youth was taken into custody at the Port of Entry by Canada Border Services Agency officers and turned over to members of CPS. The warrant was executed, and he was released to appear in court on at a later date. His name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Tina Benedict, 59, of Akwesasne, was arrested on Feb. 15, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Feb. 13, 2024, the woman was scheduled to attend court, and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On Feb. 15, 2024, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed, and she was held for a bail hearing.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Christopher Phillips, 37, of Cornwall, was arrested on Feb. 17, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged between Feb. 1, 2023, and April 6, 2023, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to report in person to a probation officer and to live at a place approved by the probation officer. He failed to do so, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On Feb. 17, 2024, the man was taken into custody by a Canada Services Border Agency officer. He was turned over to the CPS and the warrant was executed. The man was released to appear in court on March 26, 2024.
FAILURE TO STOP AFTER ACCIDENT, THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE
Cornwall, ON – Rahsontanohstha Delormier, 29, of Akwesasne, was arrested on Feb. 19, 2024, and charged with failure to stop after accident and theft of motor vehicle. It is alleged on Feb. 19, 2024, the man was involved in a collision at the Toll Booth on Brookdale Avenue and fled the scene. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The investigation also revealed the vehicle was stolen. The man was located by members of the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service and turned over to the CPS. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 26, 2024.
