MASSENA – Robert M. Hampton, 55, of Amherst Road, unexpectedly passed away, Friday, January 5, 2024 at Canton-Potsdam Hospital after a brief illness.
Robert was born on February 22, 1968 in Massena, the son of Everett and Judith (Garrow) Hampton. He graduated in 1989 from Potsdam High School. Robert worked for ARC throughout his life and participated in the Special Olympics for many years. He was an avid bowler, having belonged to many bowling leagues, enjoyed all sports especially following the Buffalo Bills, Montreal Canadiens, and NASCAR.
Robert is survived by his parents, Everett and Judy; his brother and sister-in-law, Carson and Tawny Hampton of Upland, California; his nieces and her husband, Brittany and Alden Kiertzner and their children, Everett, Caroline and Charlotte; a nephew, Zachary Hampton; two aunts, Minerva and JD White and Cynthia Warren; and several cousins.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, where friends may call Sunday 2-8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday 11:00 AM. Burial will be held at a later date in Massena Center Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the services in the fellowship hall of the First United Methodist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Shriners Children's Hospital or the First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
