A Voice from the Eastern Door
Clarkson University will once again be hosting Project Challenge beginning in January. Project Challenge, a popular program for North Country high school students offered by Clarkson University during the winter, provides local students an opportunity to participate in classes they cannot normally find at their high school and explore their future interests and develop skills.
Five-week courses will be taught by Clarkson faculty and administrators on Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. until noon, beginning January 13. The Potsdam campus program is administered by The Clarkson School, Clarkson’s early entrance program for talented high school students who have typically completed their junior year and are ready to begin college studies.
Courses will be on Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, on January 13, 20, 27; and February 3 and 10 with a snow date of February 17. Students will be on campus for their courses on Saturday, January 13 and Saturday, February 10 (snow date of February 17). Classes on Saturday, January 20, 27 and February 3 will be held over Zoom. The only exception is the “Exploring Drug Use and Addiction: A Neuroscientific Approach" course noted below will be held on campus all five Saturday mornings.
Project Challenge courses offered this year include:
Chemical Engineering for Tackling Real World Challenges
Creative Thinking for New Ideas
Exploring the Aquatic Ecosystems through the Underwater Camera
The SuperPower of Chemistry
Timeless Tactics: Exploring History through Historical Tabletop Games
Developing your Personal Brand
Exploring Drug Use and Addiction: A Neuroscientific Approach
