Canadian Allegedly Flees Border, Rolls Over in Massena

MASSENA – A Canadian individual who allegedly entered the U.S. without authorization on Christmas Day ended up in the hospital after crashing their SUV in the village of Massena.

As per officials from U.S. Customs and Border Protection, a vehicle driven by a Canadian citizen attempted to unlawfully enter the U.S. through the Massena Port of Entry around 10:46 a.m. on Monday.

The agency reports that during the attempted entry, the driver lost control of the vehicle, resulting in it rolling over. Customs and Border Protection officers promptly responded to the scene, and the driver was subsequently transported to Massena Hospital for medical treatment.

No additional details have been disclosed at this time, and it remains unclear whether law enforcement officials were pursuing the SUV before the crash.
