A Voice from the Eastern Door
The Department of Health would like to extend a warm welcome to our new part-time Family Physician, Dr. Jennifer Robinson. Dr. Robinson will be seeing patients at the Akwesasne Medical Clinic, located in the Kanonhkwa'tsheri:io Health Facility.
Dr. Robinson is Anishinaabe (Algonquin) from Timiskaming First Nation in Quebec. She has worked with First Nations communities over the past 20 years in Public Health in the areas of Mental Health and Addictions, Chronic Disease Management, and Maternal Child Health, which inspired her to become a family doctor.
Dr. Robinson received her Bachelor of Arts, with Honors, in French from the Saskatchewan Indian Federated College at the University of Regina, in Saskatchewan. She has also received a Masters in Public Health at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia and her Medical Degree from McGill University. At McGill, she is the Director of the Quebec First Nations and Inuit Faculties of Medicine Program. Dr. Robinson is delighted and excited to be a family doctor in the community of Akwesasne.
