Three members of the Native North American Travelling College (NNATC) came to Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute (VCI) on September 27 during National Truth and Reconciliation week to present Mohawk and Haudenosaunee culture and dances to Grade 9 Native Arts and Grade 11 Indigenous English students. After a short presentation on culture, the three performers began leading students and even the vice principal Kim Swerdfeger in dances.
The performance, arranged by English teacher Ronald Holla, concluded with a presentation of traditional tobacco by VCI principal Ewen McIntosh.
