Confirmation Received Injured Person Passes From Fatal Injuries

The injuries a worker sustained on the Seaway International Bridge while working onsite were fatal. Confirmation of the worker’s death was released on Tuesday from the Ontario Ministry of Labor, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (OMLITSD). The investigation into this death is ongoing.

The accident took place on the south span of the Seaway International Bridge on Friday, October 20, 2023. This resulted in several police, emergency response and rescue agencies responding. Traffic was reduced to one lane on the south span of the bridge until early that evening.

The OMLITSD stated the person was working on-site for Stantec and the Seaway International Bridge Corp. Ltd., which is part of the Federal Bridge Corp. Ltd.
