Carey Terrance returns home for a visit to ABGC & exhibition game
The Ontario Hockey League returned to the Cornwall Civic Complex for a pair of exhibition games. The first game was held on Saturday, September 9th where the Erie Otters took on the Kingston Frontenacs.
The Cornwall Civic Complex was packed with Akwesasne fans taking many of the seats. NHL draft pick and hometown hero Carey Terrance Jr., Akwesasne delivered to the crowd, scoring two goals in the game.
After one period, the Otters were up 3-1 with goals from Brett Hammond, Andre Molnar and
Matthew Spence.
Terrance scored in the second period off a rebound to make a 4-1 lead over the Frontenacs. Terrance made the lone goal for the Otters in the second period. After two periods the Otters were up 4-2.
Andre Molnar, made a second goal giving the Otters a 3 goal advantage. After Molnar, Terrance put another goal in the net to take the game over with a 6-2 advantage Terrance.
Caleb Smith earned one goal in the third period giving another Otters preseason win with a 7-3 win over Kingston.
Just before the preseason game held on Saturday evening, Akwesasne's own Carey Terrance brought his Erie Otters teammates for a visit to the Akwesasne Boys & Girls Club (ABGC). Terrance and Otter's teammates met with club members for a meet and greet, some serious floor hockey games, along with an opportunity to get autographs and to take photos with the Erie Otter players.
The Otters have two exhibition games coming up playing London Knights on September 21 at 7pm at the Joe Thornton Community Centre. The Otters travel to London on September 22 at 7pm at the Budweiser Gardens.
The 2023-24 regular season for the Otters opens on September 29 in Mississauga, before the Otters return home for their 27th Home Opener on September 30.
