Environmental Assessment Comment Period Notification

AKWESASNE – The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Environment Division is notifying community members that a 30-day Public Comment Period is being provided for an environmental assessment. The Akwesasne Freedom School - New Building Project, is the proposed construction of a new Akwesasne Freedom School that will meet all the needs of the current students and faculty, and allow for future expansions of both indoor and outdoor education spaces. The new school will be located at 1636 State Route 37, Bombay, NY 12914.

The submitted environmental assessment is available to view under “Publications” on the Tribe’s website at http://www.srmt-nsn.gov. A copy can also be requested by contacting Dylan Herne, SRMT Environmental Assessment Coordinator at (518) 358-5937 Ext. 5079.
