A Voice from the Eastern Door
Massena: It is with a heavy heart that we have to say Onen to our Partner, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and dear friend, Brenda Lee Konwathro:ri Plum David, Wolf Clan 59 years young who started her journey to the spirit world on July 30, 2023. Brenda was ever so lovingly surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Brenda was born on April 3, 1964 in Cornwall Ontario. The daughter of the Late Ross David and the Late Madeline (Point) David. She attended schools on Cornwall Island, Cornwall, she was a lifelong Kanienkeha language learner and cultural seeker. She was determined to keep our Kanienkeha language and Culture alive, teaching in all of our schools and sharing her knowledge with the next generation.
Brenda was a very expressive artist with her unique style. She was a bright and beautiful soul with an adventurous spirit. She loved going on journeys with family and friends, discovering many treasures along the way. Her unique personality brightened our day. Her love for life had her sweetgrass and berry picking, attending psychic fairs, rock hunting, going to the casino and shopping at her favorite boutique "Sal a Bah Tsia Neh" always thinking about someone.
Brenda lit up a room with her good energy and positive outlook. Her kind spirit and love were always expressed, especially when she was singing, dancing and being around her grandchildren, nieces and nephews giving those good Aksotha and Auntie vibes. Her love of bright colors was, definitely a reflection of her inner beauty and bright personality.
Brenda shared her gifts of love, kindheartedness and generosity with everyone she met. Her gentle spirit will be cherished and held in a special place in our hearts and forever in our memories. We will no longer have the present of your presence. We understand your journey here on earth is complete. We will be forever grateful for the pleasure of your company.
We will find peace, understanding your next journey will be filled with beauty, berries, flowers, family and friends. Until we meet again Konwathro:ri Kononronhkwa.
