A Voice from the Eastern Door

Cornwall Fire Services Hosting Open House

Cornwall Fire Services is opening its doors ahead of this fall's probationary firefighter recruitment. A limited number of registered participants will have the chance to tour the station, witness the physical fitness test, and ask questions of current firefighters.

The goal is to help future applicants learn more about what it takes to work for the fire service.

"Cornwall Fire Services strives to reflect the community it serves," said Fire Chief Matthew

Stephenson. "The City of Cornwall is committed to promoting and demonstrating the values of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and we encourage everyone to join us and consider a career in firefighting."

The Cornwall Fire Service will host two groups – one from 9 a.m. to noon and one from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Both will have to opportunity to participate in a Grill the Chief lunch.

Go to https://cornwall-fr.formbuilder.ca/English-Forms/2023-Recruitment-Open-House to register for the open house on Saturday, August 19. Registration is mandatory and spots are limited – your registration will be confirmed by email.

• Only registered participants will be permitted entry.

• Sessions will last two hours and include a station tour, physical fitness test

demonstration, and an opportunity to try an element of the fitness test.
