A Voice from the Eastern Door

Fort Fest Event In Ogdensburg

The Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce is hosting a NEW event this year – Fort Fest – it is a Craft and Vendor Fair on Saturday, July 15th from 10 am to 4 pm. Fort Fest will be held in conjunction with the Fort LaPresentation Association’s “LeSiege du Fort de La Presentation” – a live re-enactment of land and water battles of the French and Indian War which is scheduled for July 15th and 16th!

The Fort La Presentation site is located at 22 Albany Avenue (State Highway 68 and Commere Street/Van Rensselaer (Lighthouse) Point) and has plenty of space for vendors and re-enactment activities – like French, British, Native and Maritime Encampments; Children’s Activities; Historical talks; Demonstrations; Exhibits and a food vendor. By combining the two events – we are hoping to bring more visitors to Ogdensburg – visitors who shop, eat, buy gas, stay in our hotels, and contribute to the economic development of our community. We hope to make the Fort Fest an annual event with the LeSiege du Fort de La Presentation re-enactment making Ogdensburg a tourist destination!

If you would like to be a vendor or a sponsor for this event, please let us know. Fun for the whole family – admission to LeSiege du Fort de La Presentation is $5 for adults, $2 for children 6-16. Free admission for children on Sunday with paid adults.
