Cornwall & Area Chamber of Commerce Present First Ever Youth Engagement Fair

The Cornwall and Area Chamber of Commerce (CACC) in partnership with the Social Development Council of Cornwall and Area (SDCC) would like to invite you to participate in our first Youth Engagement Fair. This event is a perfect collaboration between the Chamber and the Social Development Council as it is intended to support business members of our region and strengthen our community engagement and development through promoting youth participation in clubs, sports, arts, and other engaging programs.

The purpose of this event is to showcase to youth and their families the many opportunities for engagement in the Cornwall, SDG, and Akwesasne areas. This is important given the influx of newcomers to the area and after the many years of pandemic restrictions preventing opportunities to be involved in our community. Through sports, art, and academic programs the mental and physical health benefits are immeasurable. Young people benefit greatly from these activities as they develop new skills, team building, leadership, and building self-esteem.

However, families and youth often find themselves wondering what is available to them. This event is your opportunity to showcase your local club, sports team, arts group, non-profits, and businesses, to display what you can offer to local youth to engage themselves in for the fall and winter months.

CACC & SDCC hope to run this event twice a year so look out for registration this winter for a spring showcase that will help with registration for spring and summer activities.

The first event is taking place on Thursday, August 17th from 2:00pm to 7:00pm at the Cornwall Civic Complex in Salons A, B, and C. If you are interested in exhibiting, please fill out the registration form here: https://form.jotform.com/231805465770055. Nonprofits can participate at no cost. For-profit businesses will be charged $40.00 to help support the cost of advertising. As an exhibitor, you will be provided with 2 chairs and a 6-foot table. Electricity will be provided on a first come first serve basis so please identify if you require power in the registration.

Beyond seeking exhibitors, they are also looking for community sponsors to help us make this event the best it can be. Sponsors will help us reach more potential attendees by supporting the cost of advertising. They will recognize your generous support on our promotional materials.

This will be a free event for the community to attend. This will be an effective way to promote local businesses or programs while simultaneously encouraging community participation, thus strengthening the core of Cornwall, SDG, and Akwesasne.
