Summer Intern Spotlight Myranda Collette, Health Services Intern

By Ronni Sunday, Communications Summer Intern.

The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe is proud to provide employment opportunities for high school and college students through the Department of Education's Summer Youth and Career Internship Employment Program. To help report on this initiative, we are proud to share the following summer student spotlight, which reports on internships in areas specific to the student's chosen career path.

AKWESASNE – Myranda Olivia Collette (she/her), age 20, is a mathematical economics major, with a healthcare & medicine minor at Clarkson University, where she plans to graduate in 2025. She is in two honor societies, Beta Gamma Sigma and Phi Kappa Phi. Myranda aspires to work in healthcare management, focusing primarily on business operations.

She describes herself as someone who is a hard worker, and always willing to help others. She volunteers at the American Cancer Society, helping to host fundraiser events and providing community outreach.

Growing up, Myranda played sports in and out of school, and is currently playing club sports at school such as soccer and hockey. She also enjoys reading romance novels by author Colleen Hoover and watching Nicholas Sparks movies.

Myranda is currently an intern at the SRMT's Health Services Business department. She enjoys that the internship allows her to explore each position within the department – giving her the opportunity to decide what she is most interested in. Her job duties include logging data into spreadsheets, updating chart numbers, and learning about billing, claims and budgeting.
