Salmon River Class Of 2023 Honored

On the radiant afternoon of Friday, June 23, 2023, Salmon River Central High School was abuzz with palpable energy as it hosted its annual high school graduation commencement. The event unfolded in the parking lot of the secondary school, drenched in the warm summer sunlight. It was an afternoon not just marked by a glowing sky but also by the glowing faces of proud parents, siblings, relatives, and friends who had assembled to celebrate the momentous achievements of the graduating students and to witness their transition into the next exciting phase of their lives.

The audience, sat expectantly, their faces etched with pride and joy. Their eyes were fixed on the path leading to the grand stage, a path that was beautifully adorned with an arch of balloons.

The students passed under it emerging on the other side as a young adult ready to conquer the world. They proceeded onto the stage, ready to receive their diplomas and to be recognized for their hard work and perseverance throughout their high school journey.

Luke Miller, Valedictorian, and Riley Thomas, the Salutatorian, stood out amongst the sea of graduates. Both delivered heartfelt speeches, brimming with warm sentiments and profound insights reflecting the collective journey of their peers. The speeches struck a balance between the solemnity of the occasion and lighthearted jests, creating a warm atmosphere. The duo, representing the class of 2023, went on to express their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated teachers and the supportive staff of Salmon River Central for guiding them throughout their high school years.

Emily Lauzon, a figure well known to Salmon River students and parents, was at the heart of the ceremony. She presented diplomas to the graduating students. Every smile she passed on to the graduates was returned, creating an infectious aura of happiness.
