Akwesasne Freedom School Spring Fundraiser

The Akwesasne Freedom School recently held their spring fundraiser with the performance of "Clues Lead to Murder at the Down Town Abby, a production of Murder on the Funny Side Theater group and written by Laurie Ray-Bingley.

The theater production was held on Saturday, May 6 at the St. Regis Recreation to a sold-out crowd. Doors opened at 5 p.m. A short first scene was performed followed by dinner consisting of a delicious roasted squash with moose meat, white corn, and light sauce along with green beans. The dinner was followed with everyone' springtime favriote dessert – strawberry shortcake.

The audience played a big role in the performance with community members breaking their chops acting a 'doctors' and policemen.

The Murder on the Funny Side Theater Productions cast and crew thoroughly enjoyed performing in Akwesasne, with the delicious bonus of being served dinner!
