ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Over the weekend, Tori McConnell was crowned the new Miss Indian World 2023, following the Thursday competition that featured 25 talented contestants. Representing the Yurok and Karuk tribes, McConnell made the journey from Eureka, California, to compete in the Land of Enchantment.
As Miss Indian World, McConnell will spend the next year traveling globally to promote cultural awareness and diversity. She will also represent and participate in the Gathering of Nations' Pow Wow, one of the most prominent Native American events, showcasing the rich heritage and traditions of Indigenous people from around the world.
