AMBE is working on a series of children’s classroom books to engage their students in learning to speak Mohawk. Artists are needed to provide the images for these children’s books. The texts/scripts will be provided to the artists in English.

SWEETHEART COUPLES CHALLENGE
Looking for something to do with your sweetheart for Valentine’s Day?! Iakwa’shatste Youth Fitness and the MCA Wholistic Health & Wellness Program have you covered!
Join us on Friday, February 10th at Generations Park to test your teamwork skills in a seven-obstacle race against other pairs in the ultimate Sweetheart Couples Challenge.
Check-in is at 5 p.m. and the challenge will begin at 5:30 p.m. Prizes and awards will be announced at end of the race.

SEX TRAFFICKING 101
The Akwesasne Family Wellness Program, in partnership with the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service, will be hosting a sex trafficking workshop. Topics will include indicators of sex trafficking and the dangers of social media, including fake “apps” used by our young people to go undetected.
When: February 22, 2023
Where: Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort
There will be 2 sessions throughout the day, 1-4 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. This is a free event that is open to all community members. Seats are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
HYDRO-QUÉBEC — UPCOMING VEGETATION CONTROL WORK
To ensure public safety, minimize the risk of power outages and guarantee the proper functioning of the electricity network, Hydro-Québec ensures a clearance distance between its lines and the vegetation found near the distribution network.
During the week of February 6th, the contractor Asplundh will carry out pruning and deforestation in the community of Akwesasne.
