Composed of 53 contemporary artworks by Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) artists from all six Haudenosaunee Nations, the exhibit examines the multiple sources of inspiration in contemporary Haudenosaunee art, including treaties, the natural world, community and family members, ancestors, oral histories, and connection to the land.
As part of the exhibit, several artists presented an artist's lecture, with one presentation still slated. Niio Perkins presented her artist lecture on October 7th, Grant Jonathan presented on October 24th, and Carrie Hill, a local sweetgrass basketmaker presented her artist lecture on Monday, November 14. Dave Fadden will present his artist lecture on Monday, December 5th, 2022. The lectures are at 4:30PM in room 123, Griffiths Hall, St. Lawrence University campus.
The St. Lawrence University's Brush Gallery "Each One Inspired – Haudenosaunee Art Across the Homelands" art exhibit will close on December 10, 2022.
