The Native North American Travelling College requires a skilled Temporary Bookkeeper. The length of time ranges from 2 weeks to 3 months, with a possibility of permanence.
Duties include:
To provide records of assets, liabilities, and financial transactions.
● Informs and advises on accounting issues.
● Assists in preparing and overall budgets,
Assist in developing quarterly and annual financial reports
Maintains manual and computerized accounts and bookkeeping activities including preparing checks, trial balance of books and posting journal entries:
a. Cash disbursements journal
b. Receipt journal
c. Payroll journal
d. General journal
Verifies accuracy of documents, records relating to payments, receipts as well as other financial transactions.
Works with vendors to ensure accounts are up to date.
Reconciles accounts
Works auditors, as needed, to ensure the accuracy of financial records
Reports on safety and security standards related to her/his financial work.
Knowledge and Skills required:
Skilled knowledge and use of accounting software
Skilled knowledge of Canadian banking practices
Skilled knowledge of ADP payroll software applications
Computer and technology knowledge: Accounting software. MS Excel. MS Outlook. MS Word. Quick Books, Sage.
Education and Experience:
2-year Certification in Bookkeeping from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
Excellent references an asset.

$22.00 per hour, 20-40 hours per week.
Acceptable CPIC well be required prior to hire. Native preference in hiring.
