MCK will not be observing holiday for Queen's funeral

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to advise the community that it will not be observing the national holiday for the Queen’s funeral on Monday, September 19th.

While we acknowledge the Queen’s unprecedented 70 years of dedication to the service of her country, we do not identify ourselves with the monarchy. It would therefore be inappropriate for us to observe this holiday.
