AMPS Emergency Management Indigenous Youth Career Initiative

The Indigenous Police Chiefs of Ontario (IPCO) and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have teamed up with various First Nations agencies to host a week-long field trip for youth interested in policing and/or emergency management.

From August 15-19, 2022, participants will have the opportunity to learn about career paths in public safety while receiving both cultural and emergency management training (First Aid/CPR, Introduction to Search & Rescue, etc). Some of the activities scheduled include visits to the Canadian Museum of History, Canadian Forces Base, and Ontario Police Academy, along with a tour at the University of Waterloo.
