Our Vision: A world where people respect and have a better understanding of each other.
Our Mission: To promote and inspire awareness of our connectedness.
To the community in which you live, no matter where you are,
This article is meant for you to take notice and learn about us. It is our desire to welcome you to become a part of us and contribute toward a better tomorrow. Our message is one that has been growing quietly for 40 years. We are a “not for profit” charitable organization, Pamoja International Cultural Exchange, Inc. (PICEI)”, that started its beginning in Deer Park, New York. We are a nonpolitical and non-religious organization. We acknowledge your right as an individual to engage in civic duties and have the spiritual life that you see fit for yourself!
To some, Deer Park and Upstate New York, were unlikely places to share such a cultural organization. You may ask, why we say that. We believe, you need to go where the problem exists and true information is at minimum, if at all. This is true of both Deer Park and Upstate, New York.
PICEI is unique for we fully understand that donations are necessary to exist. We have minimized our cost by having an all-volunteer Board of Directors since 1982. We rely on local merchants, townships, and fundraising to provide free events for various communities. By operating this way, we can focus on our Vision: A world where people respect and have a better understanding of each other and our Mission: To promote and inspire awareness of our connectedness.
Many areas in many countries, including ours, do not have the full understanding of what love is for our fellow person. Oftentimes, areas that have only a view of their own culture, judge others and view them as less than. They are afraid of the differences and lack awareness or education about other cultures or areas. This brings about “FEAR of the Others”. We work toward awareness, education and addressing the issue by spending time with those we are unfamiliar with. We do this through travel, publications, and local free intergenerational events for the entire family.
PICEI is celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year and planning a cruise to Bermuda on October 8th, 2022. This is your invitation to celebrate with us. Please look at our web site http://www.picei.org Check out the “EVENT” and RAFFLE” sections which can be found at the center of our Home Page. You can also download previous “PICEI CONNECTED” publications or just a page of your interest.
We do not lecture anyone at our events. We encourage everyone to observe and reflect on their very own and “break bread together.” Everyone is welcome to join us at all our events. We need people like YOU to share their lived experiences with us. We invite you to be a part of PICEI now! We offer a FREE membership for one year to anyone who visits our tent at our community events. All we ask for, is your volunteer service at one time or another at our various community events. Your participation is much always appreciated.
We need minds and bodies to share their culture. Please call us at 866 660 5116 or 315 600 7106 to find out how you can go for FREE to any of our cruises by using sponsorships. We just received a reduction from the cruise line from $769.08 to $587.08 per person and we are passing it on to you for a limited time. $200.00 is due now and the balance is due by July 9, 2022. The more we have in our group, the better the price is for everyone!
To reserve a cabin on the center of the ship we must act quickly. So, please call us and tell your friends about the Cruise. Children under 12 years old can travel for FREE, if we book a reservation quickly. Looking forward to you joining us and being an Ambassador of your Culture. Welcome!
