Four Akwesasronon join Eastern Door and the North for NAHC

The Aboriginal Sport Circle (ASC) held the 2022 National Aboriginal Hockey Championships (NAHC) in Membertou, Nova Scotia. The NAHC event will took place May 7-14, 2022 at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre with over 500 participants in attendance.

Teams from across Turtle Island gathered for seven days of hockey: Team Atlantic, Team Saskatchewan, Team British Columbia, Team Manitoba, Team Ontario, Team Eastern Door and North (EDN) and Team North (NOR)

Amerie Delormie, Jayrn Chubb, Chanel Thompson and Taylin Armstrong represented Akwesasne for Team Eastern Door & the North. It was a cultural learning experience where they played against different First Nation communities and giving them many positive memories to last for a lifetime.

Standout players included Xantha Saganash Player of the Game, Taylin Armstong Player of the Game, Chanel Thompson Player of the Game and Mercedes Cote Player of the Game and Jaryn Chubb Player of the Game

The Native Sports Circle (CSA) is pleased to announce that Winnipeg, Manitoba) has been chosen as the HOST city for the 2023 Indigenous Hockey National Championships. The event will be held May 7-13 at the Seven Oaks Arena.
