Earth Day came with a reminder who is in control and Akwesasne Earth Day showed the many ways we, as inhabitants on this planet, are working to become more responsible and responsive to our environment.
Everything from earth worms to the sky world was on exhibit with interactive displays and activities to enlighten, encourage and inspire all ages to the true meaning of Earth Day is Every Day. They held a variety of activities from EV/Hybrid Car Roundup, environmentally friendly product vendors, fun activities for all ages, educational booths, food vendors and door prizes.
Programs from the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe, the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne, and neighboring environmental groups from the north and south of us joined in from 2pm to 6pm at the Solomon Arena – Generations Park.
