MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST

SALARY LEVEL: PT MHT,ST 2-3,

$77,267.14-$80,357.83

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direct supervision of the Mental Health Program Manager, the Mental Health Therapist will promote healthy, functioning clients and facilitate changes in behavior, feelings and attitudes needed in resolving emotional conflict. The candidate should demonstrate a strong background in mental health counselling and a willingness to work closely with the Mental Health Team and Program Manager in making diagnoses and the development of treatment plans for the community of Akwesasne.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology or other equivalent Mental Health degree.

Maintain good standing with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association of Ontario and/or the Ordre Des Psychologues du Quebec.

If licensed in only one province, applicant must be willing to apply for the latter within one year.

Knowledge of the Mental Health Act.

Demonstrated experience in counselling and psychotherapy

Experience in working with children and families

Must provide proof of COVID-19 Vaccination.

Must have a current enhanced security clearance (criminal reference check).
