Tribal EOC, Health Services Updates Isolation, Quarantine Guidance

AKWESASNE. The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center and Health Services have updated their guidance on COVID-19 isolations and quarantines to be aligned with the Franklin County Public Health Department. The updated guidance reflects recommendations from the U.S. Center for Disease Control for a shorter isolation period and places the responsibility on individuals to self-report positive cases and conduct contact tracing.

POSITIVE CASES - PLEASE ISOLATE & SELF-REPORT

If you test positive for COVID-19, please isolate at home for five (5) days regardless of your vaccination status. If you have no symptoms after five (5) days, you may leave your house, but you must wear your mask around others for another five (5) days. If you still have symptoms or feel sick, please stay home until illness or fever resolves without the assistance of medication.

Due to the increase in positive cases, individuals who receive a positive test result from a COVID-19 home test kit are urged to notify others of potential exposure. Positive cases are also asked to self-report test results to Franklin County Public Health or SRMT Contact Tracers at (518) 333-0230. An online form is available on the Franklin County website to self-report at https://bit.ly/3njGiRa.

POTENTIAL EXPOSURE - PLEASE QUARANTINE & TEST

If you were exposed to a positive case and received your primary series of a COVID-19 vaccine within the previous six (6) months, please wear a mask around others for ten (10) days. Please get a COVID-19 test no sooner than five (5) days following the exposure. If you develop symptoms during this time, please stay home until symptoms resolve.

If you were exposed to a positive case and DID NOT receive your primary series of COVID-19 shots within the previous six (6) months or remain unvaccinated, please quarantine at home for five (5) days and test no sooner than five (5) days following the exposure. If you have no symptoms after five (5) days, you may leave your house, but you must wear your mask around others for another five (5) days. If you develop symptom, please stay home.
