Sha'tekohshéhne (Midwinter Ceremonies)

Sha'tekohshéhne is to be done every year, 5 sleeps after the first new moon of winter. However, due to the rise of COVID-19 cases in the community, the Chiefs, Clanmothers and Fathkeepers will conduct the ceremonies this year on behalf of the people.

It is the duty of the leadership to ensure that our ceremonies continue and to look out for the safety of the people. We hope that everyone will carry a good mind and peaceful thoughts and allow the leadership to carry out our ceremonies in a way that is safe for everyone. We do not mean to offend anyone. We just want everyone to be safe. Rest assured that we will all be together to do our ceremonies as soon as the pandemic is over.
