Soon after the tobacco burning, people were invited into Seven Dancers Coalition for prayers, songs and a meal.
A gathering was held at Seven Dancers Coalition for Ashley Thompson, the daughter of Lorraine Thompson and the late Floyd David on Friday, December 3, 2021. The gathering was to offer healing, prayers and support for Ashley and her family.
All community members were invited with 'the greatest intentions of healing in our community in addition to all Pipe Carriers to stand in support of Ashley's life and join together with a prayer for Ashley and her family.'
A tobacco burning started the prayer and it was followed by a pipe ceremony and honor songs from the big drum. A candlelight vigil was held throughout the day. The gathering was meant for anyone who wanted to pray, in any manner they felt comfortable, and to send those prayers of healing and strength to Ashley, her two children and her mother, Lorraine.
