Salmon River boys soccer claimed the NAC Central Division title on Thursday, Oct. 21 with a 5-2 victory over the Franklin Academy Huskies.
Chase Lewis scored four of those goals, with Kade Cook scoring the other and recording an assist.
Caleb Hall and Cameron Perras scored for the Huskies.
Salmon River was to have played Beekmantown in a regional playoff game in Potsdam on Wednesday, Nov. 3, after press deadline for this edition.
Massena was to have played to-be-announced teams in boys and girls soccer on Saturday, Nov. 6 in Potsdam.
On Wednesday, Oct. 27, the Shamrocks downed Canton 3-2 at home to win a Section 10 Class B Semifinal bout. Dylan Johnson, Lewis, and Wyatt Benedict scored for SRC. They advance to play either Ogdensburg or Potsdam in the next round.
The same day, Massena lost to Ogdensburg 4-0 on the last regular season game for both teams.
In regular season volleyball, the Shamrocks and Raiders went at it, with Salmon River sweeping the game in three sets by scores of 25-18, 25-22 and 25-16. In stats reported for Massena, Katelyn Benham tallied 11 service points, eight aces and 13 assists. Felicity Engstrom scored six service points, two aces and two kills. Payton Benson recorded three service points and five kills. Faith Halladay contributed three service points and a kill. Sydney Cardinal scored a service point and a kill. Ella Murtagh netted five kills.
On Oct. 22, Massena lost to Malone 3-2. The Raiders took sets one and four, 25-23 and 25-22. Malone won the other three with scores of 25-13, 25-20 and 25-12.
