New Cases of COVID-19 in UCDSB Schools

October 5, 2021 – Parents/guardians, staff and students at the following schools received notification within the last 24-48 hours that at least one individual at their school has tested positive for COVID-19.

Nationview Public School (South Mountain) - OPEN

North Dundas District High School (Chesterville) - OPEN

St. Lawrence Secondary School (Cornwall) - OPEN

Tagwi Secondary School (Avonmore) - OPEN

The Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) has done their assessments to determine those within the schools who may have had a high-risk exposure and are actively communicating with those individuals.

At North Dundas DHS, Tagwi SS and St. Lawrence SS, the health unit determined that the individuals were not at school while infectious and therefore there was no exposure within the schools from those cases.

All schools remain open and operating on their regular daily schedules.

The case that was reported on October 3 at Linklater Public School was reported incorrectly as a confirmed case. There have been no positive cases of COVID-19 at that school.

The health unit and schools are taking all necessary steps to prevent further spread of the virus. Specific information about individuals and cases within our schools is not shared by the school board with the public or with the media.
