The contentious special election comes to close with the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe announcement, "No appeals were submitted for the 2021 Special Tribal Election held on July 31, 2021. As a result, the SRMT Election Board has certified the attached official results."
Ron Lafrance Jr. was sworn in on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 11:30 in the lobby of the Ionkwakiohkwaró:ron Administration Building.
Surrounded by family, friends and supporters, Lafrance swore to "uphold the Laws, Customs and Traditions of the people of the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe and the Community of Akwesasne."
Lafrance was Sworn in by Tribal Clerk Summer Bero.
