The Tonawanda Seneca Nation made a large donation to the Akwesasne Mohawk Nation's fight against COVID-19. Rick Oakes, a Mohawk Nation Council of Chiefs representative traveled Tonawanda to pick up two full pallets of hand sanitizers. Since his return, Oakes has been delivering the hand sanitizers to several businesses, schools, programs and organizations in Akwesasne.
Hand sanitizers have been donated to the Akwesasne Freedom School, the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe and Mohawk Assembly of God food distribution, the Akwesasne Task Force on the Environment Seed and Tree Giveaway, Seven Dancers Coalition, SRMT Family Advocate Program, SRMT Individual Residential Alternative program serving three residences, CKON Radio Station and Indian Time Newspaper.
