Thomas David, "Anenhren:te", 88, of 21 David Lane, Kawehnoke, peacefully passed away Friday evening, January 8, 2021 at his home.
Tom was born on August 7, 1932 in Cornwall, the son of the late Andrew and Annie (Jacobs) David. He attended schools on Kawehnoke. On March 20, 1965, he married Cecilia Thompson at the Hogansburg Methodist Church.
Tom worked as an ironworker for a short time before going to work at Akwesasne Mohawk School as a custodian. Tom was also a lifelong farmer and was an avid fan of lacrosse and hockey.
He is survived by his wife, Cecelia; his children, Anthony and Kelly David, Peter David, Cindy David, Leonard David, and Barbara and Corey Tarbell; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; his sister, Camilla Carney of Syracuse; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three children, Priscilla, Paul, and Philip David; his brothers, Alex and Henry David; and his sister, Lillian Square.
Friends may call on Thursday 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena. Funeral services will be held privately. Visitation will be occupancy controlled with those attended required to observe social distancing and wear face coverings. Please note that if occupancy limitations are required those waiting may have to wait outside until occupancy has been reduced.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Hogansburg Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department.
