BAPTISM ON THE THIRD

SUNDAY OF THE MONTH

Father Jerome Pastores will continue to baptize on the third Sunday of each month, this month on October 18th. Parents need to make an appointment with Father, by calling St. Regis Rectory at 613-575-2753 between 9 AM and 1 PM on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday to schedule the interview. Baptism is vital to the spirituality of every person. Without it, a person cannot receive any other Sacrament - Reconciliation, Holy Communion, Confirmation, Matrimony, Holy Orders, or the Sacrament of the Sick. Each Baptism is carefully recorded in the permanent records of the Church, since that sacrament makes a perpetual indelible mark on every Christian.

BLESSING OF PETS

Sunday, October 11th, Father Jerome Pastores will be in the parking lot next to St. Kateri Tekakwitha Center from 11:30 AM until Noon to bless pets. Drive up with your car containing your cats or dogs or other and he will give the St. Francis special blessing to them.

As Father blesses the animals with holy water, he prays:

“Blessed are you, Lord God, maker of all living creatures. You called forth fish in the sea, birds in the air and animals on the land. You inspired Saint Francis to call all of them his brothers and sisters. We ask you to bless this pet. By the power of your love, enable it to live according to Your plan. May we always praise you for all your beauty in creation. Blessed are You, Lord our God, in all your creatures! Amen.”

HELP!

The St. Regis Food building in back of the rectory still needs volunteer carpenters to build shelves and a roof, as well as an electrician to connect the building to the electric circuit . Is there anyone who can help?

If you are a carpenter or electrician, please call St. Regis Rectory at 613-575-2753 to offer your services to do this important work to prepare the new Food Unit. THANK YOU!
