UPCOMING 6:30 PM MASS FOR RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

Last Fall the Religious Education Program began with First Communion children instructed by Vickie Phillips and Debbie Thomas, and Confirmation students instructed by Jamie Ross and Caroline Peters. In early March, classes ceased due to the pandemic. Now those classes are being resumed as the Catechists reach out to their students and the parents realize their responsibility as best educators of their children. In the near future, we are planning at St. Regis Church for an extra Children’s Mass for the children and their parents on Saturday evenings at 6:30 PM. Keep your eyes out for the notice of the date for a 6:30 Mass!

BAPTISM

During the past months of the coronavirus pandemic, churches have been closed and parishioners have been staying home. Now under guided protocols, with fifty allowed at the sanitized churches, the sacrament of Baptism has been renewed. Father Jerome Pastores will continue to baptize on the third Sunday of each month.

Parents need to make an appointment with Father, by calling St. Regis Rectory at 613-575-2753 between 9 AM and 1 PM on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday to schedule the interview. Baptism is vital to the spirituality of every person. Without it, a person cannot receive any other of the six Sacraments - Reconciliation, Holy Communion, Confirmation, Matrimony, Holy Orders, or the Sacrament of the Sick. Each Baptism is carefully recorded in the permanent records of the Church, since that sacrament makes a perpetual indelible mark on every Christian. Most of all, Baptism brings the Holy Trinity to our soul.
