EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN

SALARY LEVEL: SP07 $50,814.10

UNDERFILL: SP07 $48,859.71

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Under the supervision of the Supervisor, and In Charge EMT, the Emergency Medical Technician will perform duties associated with providing rescue services and emergency medical care to the sick and injured in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, Mountain Lake Regional protocols and AMA policies. The Emergency Medical Technician will conduct a patient assessment including but not limited to vitals. The EMT will administer basic life support treatments which are subject to periodical changes. The Emergency Medical Technician is also a mandated reporter.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or a GED as evidence of completion of a high school education;

• Current NYS EMT certification;

• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification;

• Minimum 6 months of experience in the field of rescue and emergency medical services;

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, class D in NYS, class F in Ontario or class 4A in Quebec or higher;

• Preferably be able to meet driving requirements of fleet management which is five (5) years driving experience with a clean driver’s abstract;

UNDERFILL:

• High school diploma or a GED as evidence of completion of a high school education;

• Current NYS EMT certification

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, class D in NYS, class F in Ontario or class 4A in Quebec or higher;
