NORTH COUNTRY CHAMBER WELCOMES PHASE THREE OF REOPENING

The North Country Chamber of Commerce is welcoming the green light from New York State to begin Phase Three of the reopening process in the North Country region as of Friday, June 12.

“The ability of our restaurants to resume indoor dining is a real milestone in the North Country’s successful response to the pandemic and is crucial to the successful reopening of our economy and community life,” states Garry Douglas, President of the North Country Chamber of Commerce. “Local restaurants have been among the hardest hit of our small businesses and we all need to now support them as much as possible.”

Douglas reminds the region’s restaurants to review and affirm the latest state Guidelines, posted on the Forward.ny.gov website earlier this week, and to create or update a health and safety plan using the state template. “They will find links on the Chamber website at northcountrychamber.com, including past webinar programs specifically for restaurants along with other information that will assist with all aspects of reopening,” he notes.

“We also welcome the reopening in Phase Three of a number of personal services, who have struggled through a long period of total closure and who also need to affirm state guidelines for their sector and have a plan in place before reopening,” Douglas says. “We conducted a Personal Service safety training webinar earlier this week which is now available on our website for those who missed it.”

The North Country Chamber of Commerce is playing a leading role in the region in assisting businesses through the reopening process, including a continuing series of safety and employment webinars, all of which can be accessed at the Chamber website, and its Daily Dose e-newsletter going to more than 5,000 regional business and community contacts each weekday. Since mid-March, the Chamber has conducted 37 free webinars and tele town halls with a total of more than 4,900 participants.
