Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service Detain Three Illegal Aliens

May 27, 2020. AMPS detain three individuals attempting to illegally enter the United States

On Thursday May 21, 2020 at 9:20 PM Akwesasne Central Dispatch received a call of suspicious individuals walking the shoreline in the village of Kana:takon (St. Regis) Quebec.

Akwesasne Mohawk Police patrol units attended the area of Kateri Tekakwitha Street and commenced a search along the riverbank. Police located three individuals of Middle Eastern descent attempting to hide in the grass.

All three individuals were detained and transported to Immigration Canada for further processing.

The Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service would like to inform the community that human smuggling is a crime and poses serious health concerns for not only the individual(s) committing the act but places the entire community of Akwesasne at risk.
