Tribal Members May Apply Directly for Off-Territory NYSDEC Fishing Licenses

AKWESASNE — The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Environment Division is notifying tribal members that it is not able to offer NYSDEC hunting and fishing licenses during the COVID-19 response. The Environment Division Office is currently closed and the issuance of the fishing licenses are classified as non-essential.

Tribal members may apply or renew fishing licenses directly with the NYSDEC by emailing: [email protected] or fax (518) 402-9025. The NYSDEC license is free for Native Americans and is for off-territory fishing only, as tribal members do not need a license to fish within the jurisdiction of the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe.
