Timeline of coronavirus cases in Canada - April 2020

B.C. cases top 2,000. Date reported: April 28. British Columbia announced 55 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the provincial total to 2,053 and the national total past 50,000.

B.C. also announced two more deaths, bringing the toll to 105.

Alberta reports five more deaths, 154 new cases. Date reported: April 28. Alberta announced five more patients had died of COVID-19, and 154 people were diagnosed. The province’s death toll inched up to 80 with total cases at 4,850.

One new COVID-19 case in Saskatchewan. Date reported: April 28. One more person has been diagnosed with COVID-19 in Saskatchewan, bringing the provincial total to 366. No new deaths have been reported in the province, as the total remains at five. A total of 70 cases are considered active as of Tuesday.

No new cases in Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador or Prince Edward Island. Date reported: April 28. Health authorities from four provinces reported that there are no new cases of COVID-19 that have been reported as of Tuesday. No new cases for Manitoba since April 19. New Brunswick has had no new cases for the last 10 days, and it’s the third day Newfoundland and Labrador have had no new cases. P.E.I. has had no new cases since April 15.

Nova Scotia reports three additional deaths. Date reported: April 28. Three more deaths have been reported in Nova Scotia, bringing the provincial number of deaths related to COVID-19 to 27. Fifteen new cases of COVID-19 were also identified in Nova Scotia over the last 24-hour reporting period, bringing the provincial total to 915 confirmed cases.
